Central South University CSC Scholarship 2025 (Fully-Funded)
Central South University (CSU) is now accepting applications for its fully funded CSC Scholarship for the 2025 intake. This opportunity is open to international students looking to pursue a master’s or doctoral degree at one of China’s top universities.
What’s Covered by the Scholarship?
The CSC Scholarship at CSU offers full coverage of tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, medical insurance, and a monthly living allowance. Partial scholarships are also available, offering different levels of support.
Who Can Apply?
- Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, have no criminal record, and be in good health. Strong academic performance and research potential are required.
- Age and Education Criteria:
- For Master’s Degree Applicants: You must have a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years old.
- For Doctorate Applicants: You must have a master’s degree and be under 40 years old.
- Language Requirements:
- For programs taught in Chinese: A minimum HSK4 score of 260 for science/engineering, or HSK5 score of 200 for arts/social sciences/medical fields.
- For programs taught in English: A minimum IELTS score of 6 or TOEFL score of 85.
Exemptions may apply if you’ve studied in English or Chinese previously or if these are your first languages.
How to Apply
- Online Application: Start by submitting an online application at CSU’s portal and here https://intl.csu.edu.cn/English/Admission/Graduate_Programs.htm.
- Initial Review: If you pass an initial check for language ability, health, and other criteria, you’ll need to pay a non-refundable application fee of CNY 500.
- Academic Review: The university will assess your academic background, research abilities, and potential.
- Results: Final decisions and details of any financial support will be sent via email.

Documents Needed
To apply, you’ll need:
- A valid passport
- Graduation and transcript certificates (notarized if not in Chinese or English)
- A physical exam record
- Non-criminal record issued after October 1, 2024
- Language test scores (HSK, IELTS, or TOEFL if needed)
- Two recommendation letters
- A study plan (at least 1000 words)
- A short video self-introduction (MP4, max 40MB)
- Optional but helpful: acceptance letters, research papers, or other supporting materials.
