Language proficiency is critical: applicants for Chinese-taught programs must meet specific HSK scores depending on their field of study, while non-native English speakers applying to English-taught programs must provide proof of proficiency with a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL score of 80.
The application process involves completing the ECNU International Student Application Form and applying for the CSC-ECNU Scholarship via the China Scholarship Council’s portal (Type B; institution code: 10269). Required documents include degree certificates, transcripts, language proficiency certificates, a personal statement, recommendation letters, and a copy of the applicant’s passport. Additional documents may be necessary depending on the program, such as portfolios for art-related fields.
Applicants should submit their materials for the first batch by March 1, 2025, or the second batch by May 15, 2025. The final application deadline is June 15, 2025.
