E-JUST TICAD8 African Scholarships 2025 Open Now
The E-JUST TICAD8 African Scholarships for STI program offers an exceptional opportunity for aspiring researchers and instructors from African nations to advance their expertise in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI). Developed in collaboration between the Egyptian government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), this fully funded scholarship aims to cultivate high-quality human resources, fostering a robust STI network across Africa and beyond.
The program is open to individuals seeking to pursue M.Sc. or Ph.D. degrees in Science or Engineering fields, with around 33 M.Sc. and 40 Ph.D. scholarship slots available for the Fall 2025 intake. Applicants must be nationals of African countries (excluding Egypt) and reside in Africa at the time of application. Preference is given to candidates committed to returning to their home universities or institutions upon completing their postgraduate studies, and endorsement from their home institutions is required in such cases.
The scholarship covers all necessary expenses, including tuition fees, accommodation, a monthly stipend, medical care, and international round-trip flight tickets. The scholarship duration aligns with the time required to complete the degree, with M.Sc. programs taking approximately 2 years and Ph.D. programs three years. An additional 6 months of preparatory courses may be required for some students.
Applicants must fulfill all admission requirements, successfully pass an academic interview and oral examination, and demonstrate that they are not serving in the military. The scholarship requires full-time commitment, prohibiting recipients from undertaking other work during their studies.
Progress reports will be evaluated semi-annually to ensure students maintain good standing in their programs.
