Fujian Provincial Government Scholarship 2025-2026 at XMU
The Fujian Provincial Government has announced the opening of its 2025 scholarship program for international students, providing a unique opportunity to pursue higher education at the renowned Xiamen University (XMU) in China. Established in 2012, the scholarship aims to strengthen global educational exchange and foster cooperation, offering generous financial support for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programs.
Located in the picturesque coastal city of Xiamen, XMU is one of China’s leading universities, celebrated for its academic excellence and breathtaking campus. Established in 1921 by the visionary overseas Chinese leader Tan Kah Kee, the university has achieved global recognition as a part of China’s prestigious 211 Project, 985 Project, and Double First-Class Initiative. With a rich history of international collaboration, XMU has signed agreements with over 270 universities worldwide and has been a trailblazer in establishing global Confucius Institutes.
The scholarship program offers significant financial benefits, covering tuition fees for one academic year with amounts set at RMB 30,000 for bachelor’s students, RMB 40,000 for master’s students, and RMB 50,000 for doctoral candidates. Scholars must first register as self-supported students at XMU and pay the necessary fees, which are reimbursed in the following spring. While the scholarship initially covers a single academic year, recipients demonstrating outstanding academic performance may be considered for renewal.
Eligible applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health and meet specific educational requirements. Bachelor’s applicants must hold a high school diploma and be under 30 years old, while master’s and doctoral candidates should hold relevant degrees and be under 35 and 40 years old, respectively. For programs taught in Chinese, proficiency equivalent to HSK Level 3 or above is required.
