Universitas Sebelas Maret Scholarship 2025 Inviting Applications

Are you dreaming of pursuing your bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD abroad but worried about tuition fees and living costs? If you’re an international student ready for an exciting adventure in Southeast Asia, the UNS Scholarship 2025 might be just what you need! Offered by Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), this scholarship opens doors for qualified international students to study in Indonesia with financial assistance and cultural support.

Let’s break it down for you — everything you need to know in one place!

Why Should You Consider UNS?

UNS is a leading Indonesian public university located in Surakarta, Central Java. It’s known for its academic excellence, vibrant student community, and welcoming environment for international students. With strong government backing, UNS has become a global destination for education — and this scholarship program makes it even more accessible.

What Does the UNS Scholarship 2025 Offer?

The UNS Scholarship 2025 offers two tiers of financial support to help ease the cost of studying in Indonesia: the Full Scholarship and the Partial Scholarship.

If you are selected for the Full Scholarship, you will receive a complete tuition fee waiver, meaning you won’t need to pay any academic fees throughout your studies. In addition, you’ll receive a monthly living allowance to help cover your day-to-day expenses — IDR 1,000,000 for bachelor’s students, IDR 1,250,000 for master’s students, and IDR 1,750,000 for doctoral students. The scholarship also provides free accommodation in a shared student dormitory, daily breakfast meals at the dorm, and a fully covered Indonesian language course to prepare you for your academic journey, as most programs are taught in the local language.

On the other hand, the Partial Scholarship also covers 100% of your tuition fees and includes the free Indonesian language course. However, it does not include the living stipend, accommodation, or meals. Both options offer valuable support, but you should be prepared to manage additional personal costs such as flights, visa processing, health insurance, and other daily expenses on your own.

Are You Eligible?

Before you apply, make sure you tick all these boxes:

  • You are not an Indonesian citizen.
  • You’re committed to pursuing a degree at UNS.
  • You’re available for an online video interview.
  • You are not a refugee and have no serious criminal record.
  • You can show proof of financial support (you can’t rely solely on the scholarship).

Language Requirements: Can You Learn in English?

UNS primarily teaches in Indonesian, not English. That’s why every admitted international student must take the Indonesian language course (offered for free under the scholarship) from February to July 2026 before academic classes start.

But to apply, you’ll still need to demonstrate English proficiency:

  • A TOEFL score of at least 450 for natural sciences
  • A TOEFL score of 500 for social sciences (Equivalent scores from IELTS or other tests are accepted.)

If you already speak some Indonesian, submitting a certificate is a bonus — it increases your chances of success.

Document Checklist: What You Need to Submit

Here’s your must-have document list:

  • Recent passport-size photo
  • Valid passport scan (must be valid for at least 18 months)
  • Graduation certificate and academic transcripts (in English or Indonesian)
