What Does the Fellowship Include?

Successful applicants of the DUPRF 2026 program will receive a powerful funding package:

  • Up to 3 years of full salary support, ranging from Level A, Step 6 to the top of Level B on the academic pay scale
  • A $15,000 one-time research grant to cover direct project costs
  • Access to state-of-the-art research infrastructure, collaboration opportunities, and guidance from world-class academic mentors at Deakin

Who Can Apply?

The DUPRF program welcomes applications from researchers across all nationalities and disciplines who meet the following criteria:

  1. Hold a PhD awarded on or after January 1, 2022
    (Candidates with career interruptions may also be considered with a commensurate PhD date)
  2. Have a strong research track record and ambition to lead independent research
  3. Can align their project with Deakin’s Schools, Research Institutes, or Centres
  4. Are willing to connect with a potential supervisor before applying
