Apply for WIPO Young Experts Program 2026 Seeking New Applicants
If you’ve ever dreamed of working at the intersection of innovation, creativity, and international policy — this is your moment. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is now accepting applications for its highly competitive Young Experts Program (YEP) 2026–2027, and here’s why you — yes, you — should consider applying.
This is not just a job or an internship. It’s a career-defining opportunity for early-career professionals who want to make an impact on a global scale. So, what’s in it for you? Let’s break it down.
1# Global Exposure in Geneva, Switzerland
As a selected Young Expert, you’ll spend two transformative years at WIPO’s headquarters in Geneva — a global hub for diplomacy, international law, and multilateral development. You’ll be surrounded by some of the brightest minds in IP, policymaking, and innovation, gaining insights you won’t find in textbooks or online courses.
2# Real-World Experience That Goes Beyond the Classroom
Forget hypothetical case studies — this program immerses you in WIPO’s real projects. You’ll work side-by-side with international experts, contribute to strategic initiatives, and get your hands on meaningful, global-impact work. From day one, your voice and contributions will matter.
3# Fully Funded = Less Stress, More Growth
WIPO understands that financial peace of mind is key to success. That’s why this program includes:
- CHF 5,000 monthly stipend
- 75% medical insurance coverage
- Travel cost contribution
- Accident insurance
- Visa and accommodation guidance
You’ll be able to live, work, and grow professionally in Geneva without worrying about expenses holding you back.
4# Sharpen Your Leadership and Policy Skills
This is more than a technical training program. YEP is designed to build leadership capacity. You’ll develop high-level strategic thinking, learn how global institutions operate, and gain the kind of international experience that stands out on any CV — whether you return home, work in the public sector, or pursue multilateral careers later.
5# Build a Global Network That Lasts a Lifetime
Throughout the program, you’ll connect with experts, diplomats, legal advisors, entrepreneurs, and fellow young leaders from around the world. This isn’t just networking — it’s global relationship-building. Many former YEP participants go on to become key change-makers in their countries.
6# Who Can Apply? You Probably Can!
If you meet the following, you’re eligible:
- 35 years old or younger
- Hold a university degree
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience
- Fluent in English
- Have a strong interest or experience in intellectual property, creativity, or innovation.
No matter your academic background — law, public policy, tech, science, or arts — if your work touches on innovation or IP, this program is for you.
