Four-Year Funded PhD Scholarship 2025 in Food Systems Research

The FoodBioSystems Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) is offering up to 22 fully-funded PhD studentships starting in Autumn 2025. These four-year projects span critical areas of the food chain, including sustainable agriculture, farmed animal health, food safety, nutrition, and precision agriculture.

The program involves a collaboration between top universities: Aberystwyth, Brunel, Cranfield, Lincoln, Queen’s Belfast, Reading, and Surrey. Students will benefit from interdisciplinary research training, professional internships, and a tax-free stipend (£19,237–£21,237 per year).

  • Eligibility: Open to UK and international students with a strong academic background in sciences like agriculture, artificial intelligence, microbiology, and more.
  • Support: Applicants from underrepresented groups can access mentoring and guaranteed interview schemes.

  • Webinar: An introductory webinar on 14 January 2025 will provide tips on crafting strong applications.
