1. OceansLab Marine Hydrogen Internship
Set sail towards a greener future with this two-month paid internship in early 2025 at OceansLab headquarters in La Rochelle, France. Work alongside Jersey’s own world-renowned yachtsman, Phil Sharp, and gain hands-on experience with hydrogen energy technologies—a game-changer for decarbonizing ferries, cargo ships, and lifeboats.
Eligibility:
- Jersey-based undergraduates or graduates with degrees in engineering, maritime, or sustainability.
- Jersey residents with qualifications or experience in mechanical, electrical, or maritime disciplines.

2. Maritime Traineeship
Immerse yourself in a 12-month traineeship that offers first-hand experience across Port Operations, Marine Services, and Coastguard teams. Enhance your skills with industry-recognized courses such as RYA Power Boat Level 2 or STCW Basic Safety Training.
3. Officer Cadetship Training Programme
Port of Jersey, in collaboration with Trinity House, sponsors a three-year Deck Cadet training programme to support Islanders in qualifying as a Deck Officer of the Watch. This prestigious qualification opens doors to careers in the Merchant Navy, offshore oil and gas, superyachts, and marine renewables.
