QECS Fully-funded Scholarship 2025 for International Students
Applications are now open for the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) 2025 (Round 1), offering a transformative opportunity for international students to pursue a 2-year master’s degree in a low- or middle-income Commonwealth country. Designed for individuals passionate about driving positive change in their communities, the QECS program is a fully funded scholarship initiative that allows students to gain a world-class education while immersing themselves in the culture of their host country.
The QECS program provides full financial support to scholars, including coverage for tuition fees, a living allowance, return economy flights, a one-off arrival allowance, and a research support grant upon approval. Scholars will not only receive an exceptional academic experience but also develop skills and connections that will help shape the future of the Commonwealth.
Applications for this prestigious scholarship are open from November 19, 2024, to January 14, 2025. Students from Commonwealth countries who hold an undergraduate degree and meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply. Applicants can choose from a range of master’s programs offered by universities in countries like Eswatini, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, Tanzania, and Uganda. Each participating university has its own specific entry requirements, and students must apply separately to both the university and the QECS program.
Highlights of the available programs include courses such as MSc Computer Science at the University of Eswatini, MSc Biomedical Research at the University of the West Indies, MSc Data Science at Technical University of Kenya, and MBA Finance at the State University of Zanzibar. Each program is tailored to address pressing global challenges while equipping scholars with advanced knowledge and practical skills.
The application process is straightforward. Students must first explore eligible universities and programs on the QECS website, prepare necessary documents such as transcripts and recommendation letters, and submit their applications through the myACU portal. They are also required to apply directly to their chosen university for admission into their preferred program.
A QECS alumnus, Tolulope Saliu, reflected on the program’s impact, stating that the scholarship opened doors to new collaborators, ideas, and opportunities in cellular and molecular medicine. His experience is a testament to the life-changing potential of the QECS initiative.
Applications for the 2025 intake are now being accepted, and prospective scholars are encouraged to seize this chance to further their education while contributing to global development.
