Scholarships in 2026

St. Mary’s Ryken Announces Merit-Based Scholarships for the Class of 2030

St. Mary’s Ryken (SMR) has officially opened the doors for its highly competitive Merit-Based Scholarships, designed to recognize the academic excellence, talent, and dedication of incoming freshmen. These awards are one of the most anticipated opportunities for 8th graders aspiring to join SMR, offering not only financial support but also a mark of distinction throughout their four years of high school.

Funding Package

The Merit-Based Scholarships at SMR are four-year awards granted exclusively to students who will complete their entire high school education at the institution. While the scholarship amounts vary depending on the category, multiple winners are typically chosen in each category, ensuring that outstanding students in different fields have the chance to be recognized. Importantly, it is possible for a student to secure more than one scholarship, and in some cases, both need-based financial aid and merit scholarships can be combined to ease tuition expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is strictly reserved for students applying for admission to the SMR Class of 2030. Applicants must have a fully completed admissions checklist by December 12, 2025 to be considered. The scholarships are only available to incoming freshmen who plan to attend SMR for all four years; transfer students or those enrolled for shorter durations are not eligible. Families concerned about tuition affordability are also encouraged to apply for need-based financial aid through TADS, which can be awarded alongside merit scholarships.

Application & Timeline

There is no separate application for the scholarships. Instead, students are automatically considered once their admissions checklist is completed by the deadline. Key dates include:

  • December 12, 2025 – Final date for applicants to complete their admissions checklist.
  • January 24, 2026 – Scholarship Day for the Class of 2030, which includes auditions for certain scholarship categories and serves as the main evaluation day for applicants.

The SMR Scholarship Committee will announce winners following evaluations, and its decisions are final and not subject to review or appeal.
