University of Birmingham Announces Masters Scholarship for 2026 Intake
The University of Birmingham has officially opened applications for its Masters Scholarship 2026 Batch, offering more than 200 awards worth £3,000 each in the form of a tuition fee discount. This scholarship is aimed at supporting outstanding postgraduate students who wish to pursue their studies at one of the UK’s most respected universities during the 2025/26 academic year.
Financial Support for Postgraduate Students
The scholarship provides a £3,000 reduction in tuition fees for eligible students undertaking full-time taught Master’s degrees. It has been introduced as part of the University’s 125th anniversary celebrations, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to investing in talented students and ensuring access to higher education without financial barriers.
This initiative comes at a time when the cost of postgraduate study can be a challenge for many. By easing tuition expenses, the University of Birmingham hopes to encourage more students to continue their education and strengthen their career prospects.
Who Can Apply?
The Birmingham Masters Scholarship is open exclusively to students who are:
- Domiciled in the UK or Ireland and classified under Home fee status.
- Self-funded or applying for a postgraduate government loan.
- Undertaking a 180-credit full Masters programme such as LLM, MA, MSc (Taught/Pre-reg), MPH, MEd, MBA, or MPA.
Students currently enrolled in postgraduate study, or those applying for research-based, integrated, or non-eligible qualifications, will not be considered.
Campuses and Mode of Study
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to study across the University’s main Edgbaston campus in Birmingham, at Stratford-upon-Avon, or through online programmes, depending on their chosen course.
Application Process
Interested students must complete two key steps:
- Submit an application for their intended Master’s course via the University’s Course Finder, including all required documents such as transcripts, references, and English language certification (if applicable).
- Complete the dedicated Birmingham Masters Scholarship application form, ensuring that the correct programme application ID is entered.
