Waseda University Emergency Scholarship 2025 Open

Waseda University has officially opened applications for its Emergency Scholarship for the Summer 2025 term. This vital financial aid opportunity is designed to support both Japanese and international students who are struggling to continue their education due to an unexpected and drastic change in their family’s financial situation—such as job loss, bankruptcy, death of a primary earner, or natural disaster.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible students must fulfill all three conditions:

  1. Emergency Timing: The financial hardship must have occurred within the last year (August 2024 – July 2025).
  2. Financial Need: You must be recognized as unable to continue your studies for financial reasons.
  3. Enrollment Status: You must be enrolled in a regular degree program and set to graduate within the standard course duration (for undergraduate or graduate school).

Note: If you were a recipient of this scholarship in the past and your hardship continues for the same reason, you may reapply even if the original incident occurred over a year ago.
